Kathlynn C. Sell-Benguaich is a board-certified music therapist in the Greater Boston area and holds a master’s degree in music therapy from Colorado State University. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2017 with a degree in Music Therapy and Psychology. Her clinical experience ranges from older adults to children with autism and she has worked at many facilities across Massachusetts. Currently, Kathlynn works as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Rhode Island.

Throughout her career, Kathlynn has taken great pleasure in having the opportunity to advocate for the field of music therapy through conference sessions, webinars, and keynote presentations. Her love of public speaking led her to accept the nomination to become the Vice President for the New England Region of the American Music Therapy Association. This position is directly in charge of regional conference planning and execution. Kathlynn has also completed the training, received an affiliation through the Neurologic Music Therapy Academy, and begun her private practice, Daylight Music Therapy. Since 2020, Kathlynn has supervised over 40 music therapy practicum students.

Kathlynn operates on the philosophy that music is for everyone and that everyone can make music, leading her to a passion for adaptive music lessons on piano, ukulele, guitar, and other instruments. There is no gatekeeping in music; everyone should have the ability and resources to enjoy music in whatever capacity they choose to, and she strives to continue searching for ways to make this possible. She considers herself truly fortunate to be a part of the field of music therapy.

Kathlynn is the founder and music therapist of Daylight Music Therapy. More information about DMT can be found here: http://www.daylightmusictherapy.com/
